Last week I tried out for Chamber and ever since then, every time I allow myself to think, I can't breath. I am SOOOOOOO nervous. On Monday I was dreading the break because it meant plently of free time to think and I really value breathing. Even worse, my family was headed to Midway for the vacation. I don't know about you, but when I die, I want it to be at my house, in my bed, when I am asleep. Not at a random condo in midway by asphyxiation. Tuesday rolled around and I discovered, or rather rediscovered the value of a good book when you need to get your thoughts off of something. Before my family left, I took a quick trip up to the library and stocked up on books. On the way up I read
I Shouldn't Even be Doing This by Bob Newhart. We arrived, unpacked the car, and as soon as everything was settled, I settled down with
The Raging Quiet by Sherryl Jordan. I finished that on Wednesday while the rest of my family was shopping for clothes at the Park City Outlet stores. As soon as I was done, I ran over to the Borders outlet and bought five books for the price of four, spending just under half of my Easter bunny money. My proud perchases were
Pretties by S
cott Westerfield, Specials by Scott Westerfield
, Flyte by Angie Sage
, Fairest by Gail Carson Levine
, and
A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
. I got back in the car and began reading
Fairest. Finished that and began reading
Specials. I finished
Specials on Thursday and started on
A Great and Terrible Beauty. I was done by 7:00 pm and I began reading
Flyte, but I couldn't concentrate on it because
A Great and Terrible Beauty ended really badly and I didn't have the sequel... yet. On Friday before we left for home, we went back to the outlet malls to return some stuff. I returned to Borders and bought
Rebel Angels by Libba Bray, the sequel to
A Great and Terrible Beauty. I spent the rest of Friday reading that, even when at the zoo. What can I say? It is a really good book. I finished it LATE at night, which was a little spooky. Anyway, on Saterday I woke up, did my jobs, and read
The Light of the Oracle by Victoria Hanley. From all of this I have concluded three things. 1- I LOVE READING!!!! (maybe a little too much) 2- Books really help keep you from dwelling on things that you don't want to dwell on. 3- I need to get a life.
So for those who didn't count all the books I read and want to know the grand total,
7.
