Fighting the need to fight

Why is it so easy to argue/fight? Arguing/fighting takes more energy than letting things go. Arguing/fighting ends with bad feelings. Arguing/fighting helps no one. Why then do people tend to argue/fight instead of being mature and letting it go? It could be that they like arguing/fighting. It could be that they enjoy conflict, or being contrary. Or it could be that pride, the universal sin, is the reason. Pride makes a person refuse to be wrong. Pride creates the need to always be right. If pride were to be removed, arguing and fighting would no longer be an issue. Everyone would be content, even if they were wrong. Pride is the author of contention, and boy has it written a lot.

I personally argue because I like to see what the other person comes up with to counter my arguements. That's why I provoke you so much, you always come up with something interesting and intelligent in response.

You have some truly amazing insights Missy! Fine I'll admit it! I'm one of the arguers that,"nobody," speaks of. I argue because I'm better. Everyone needs to know that! The people who argue back at me are just communists. They can't win and they never will.

I liked the end of that it was amazing a very strong statement completely summing up your obvious feelings. Way to go. I argue mostly with my brothers becaues I feel like if I don't they might think that they are right when obviously they are not.
